At the beginning stood a simple idea to use - in computational units running in the DPE1 - an inherited method to implement a beep signal indicating an incoming request. This idea (a hack of 5 min) grew into some months work to implement these monitoring tools for online diagnosis and logging of distributed system activity. See Request Monitor Net Editor - help text.
